North Chicago is a hell hole though...

I'd move off base if you're looking to raise a family, Libertyville has a fantastic school system (top 50 in the nation)..

Lake bluff is crap, its turning into a Diamond Lake. Its not what it used to be 10-15 years ago. The wood is a problem to boot.

There are some nice parts of Waukegan though...
The crap part of Lake Bluff is called Waukegan.

Ummm last time I checked, Lake Bluff & Waukegan were two completely separate towns. And if you're referring to the Waukegan Road section of Lake Bluff (much of which is an unincorporated area known as Knollwood), it really is not a bad area either. They mostly get either Lake Bluff, Lake Forest & Libertyville schools. And the crime rates are low in this area as well.

I was being sarcastic towards the person stating that Lake Bluff has turned to crap while there are nice parts of Waukegan. Since I live in Lake Bluff myself I am aware (and glad) that it is a separate town, although it does border in areas with Waukegan.

You just have to stop in at Quonset in Waukegan.
Big Ed's bbq in North Chicago (be careful over there) and Hillary's bbq in Waukegan are great choices.
Lung Fung is a hole in the wall Chinese place in Zion. It's very good food.

There are nice and safe areas in Waukegan. You just have to look for them.
