Yes, training wheels are optional.

That looks exactly like a rear-end collision to me.

I'd probably sneak that option in there for rainy days myself. If you're spending that kind of money (on the SS versions) why not? I hear the newer systems are hardly invasive, but I've never owned a car with one.

...as if we thought these cars would be sold and they'd never be involved in an accident.

Sad.

Looks like a nicely built car though... the passenger cage was totally intact... even the back side window didnt shatter.

I was looking at that as well, almost looks like the DS door would still open & close. It sucks to see one wrecked so soon but wait another few months, there will be a lot more!

Yeah, the door dont even look to be damaged and that car took a hard hit to the back.... it must be a well built car.

Sadly there will be more... alot of "untrained" drivers speeding around in these cars and those wanting to speed that have a little more experience, but even those end up spinning around.

Although I'm sure the car is built to take a collision, many people seem to associate an undamaged body with good crash resistance. Crumple zones are designed to absorb a good portion of the impact and a vehicle body that doesn't bend will transfer that impact right onto its passenger. If anyone has heard the argument of a truck taking a better beating than a small passenger car that gets bent to bits, it would be a similar deal. Less damage to a vehicle means more damage to its occupants.
