So - my '91 Mercury Sable has the world's most annoying bell chime, that sounds off whenever the key is in the ignition and the driver's door is open. This is not a little "ding ding ding" sound, no, this is a "BOING BOING BOING BOING BOING BOING BOING BOING BOING" that goes on forever and can be heard a quarter mile away.

I could remove the fuse, except then I also lose the dash clock and one or two other things I'd rather not be without.

Any advice on how to axe this chime will be gratefully appreciated!
Joan

Turn the ignition to thr run position. Using a small screwdriver/pick push up into the hole under the ignition kry/cylinder. At the =same time pull to remove the cylinder. When it slides out simply remove the orange plastic piece with a couple metal pieces attached. Toss it and slide cylinder back in.. All shoud be good. Kevin
