What's a really nice downtown CHA hotel in a good area? How is the Chattanoogan? The pictures look nice. Any recommendations? Looking for clean and upscale in the 120-130 dollar range/night.
Safe street/environment, in downtown, "boutique-y"/historic...

We've stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn which is very close to the restaurants and Aquarium - highly recommend, clean and safe. We also stayed at the Sheraton Read House, which was a little more downtown feel, but further away from what I think are the cooler attractions, including Frazier street across the river.

I found the best deal for the Sheraton directly from their website, vs. other options like Expedia, Traveloicy, etc...

Others more local can give you opinions of the Chattanoogan.

Enjoy your visit!

We have clients visiting regularly from the Los Angeles area, and we always put them in the Chattanooga. Why? It's the best "modern" hotel in downtown Chattanooga, and it costs about the same as a mid-range hotel back where they're from. I believe $120-$130/night is about right. Hop on the free electric shuttle for a quick trip to the attractions at the Riverfront.
