PreK info:

Pre-Kindergarten Program (http://www.hcde.org/site/preK/Default.aspx - broken link)

The closest to that zip are included below. Brown IS downtown if that is a factor.

Tommie F. Brown Academy for Classical Studies (2) —*State Funded
Clifton Hills Elementary (2) —*State Funded/Title I
Donaldson, Calvin Elementary (2) —*State Funded/Title I
East Lake Elementary (2) *State Funded/Title I
Hardy Elementary (2) —*Title I
Orchard Knob Elementary (2) —*State Funded

Any particular reason you are looking in 37402 area? Is your job downtown?

Riverview Grande is a great apartment complex. It is maybe a 5 minute drive to downtown, and the staff there is very friendly. I have lived there a little over 2 years and i have no reason to complain or change locations. They have 2 pools and work out centers, a playground, tennis court, and i think they still have a semi decent tanning bed. They are remodeling some of the apartments (as in putting in hardwood and changing some appliances) so the rent is going up a little. I think a two bedroom is somewhere around $800 or $850. Also, public education in chattanooga is pretty scary. I would definitely look into a private school for your child. Other than that, chattanooga is a GREAT city.

no, it's not so bad. Some schools are considered better than others though.
