Duke Energy came out the other day to change out the transformer box in front of my house...

I was here at lunch and they said they had to cut down a tree that was blocking their access. The tree had obviously been there for years, before I even owned the house.

They asked if I had anywhere to put the limbs and branches. I said no. They said they'd have a cleanup crew come out to clean it up. I'm guessing they'll never be out to clean up...

I just called and they said they don't clean it up, it's the owner's responsibility.

This story says Duke will clean up if it's in a maintained area (it's in my front yard).

Any suggestions, or do I need to go buy a saw?

Call the TV station. If you don't want to appear on camera, you can tell them.

Duke Energy was in my town over the summer clearing right-of-ways. It appears they only remove and chip what is necessary. The rest they leave on the ground. I am guessing it is part of their cost cutting moves.
