Mooresville(33, 36) is not small-it's very busy and I've found the most convenient exit regarding shopping. (We're moving fr. Davidson to 33) Once you're up there, you probably won't need/want to come down. We considered Cabarrus county and decided it was too country. Get used to the traffic-it's everywhere-and I don't see much difference between Brawley and 73-it's clogged anywhere.
I used to live in Mooresville - My father still does off of exit 33. We moved to Concord for several reasons.
1. Traffic - it IS awful. You can't get to Charlotte easily - just going from exit 33 to 36 on the interstate is a nightmare and all the back roads are just as bad. There are just too many people in the area.
2. School system - you can read all the stats that you want. But I watched my sister and her friends struggle with Iredell County Schools. We wanted better schools for our children, so we moved to Concord. I have been VERY pleased with the Cabarrus County School system. Especially their ability to keep up with growth. They are opening 4 new schools this fall [one high school, three elementary] and have another high school and middle school in the works.
Huntersville is worse - My husband lived there for five years and went to school there. The high school up there is overcrowded and mecklenburg county is not going to do anything about it until they get their rail line finished.
This water issue that I have seen several times is news to me. The water bill always come with a pamplet about any news or issues and I haven't seen this. Also, we are not on any water restrictions and rarely have been over the past 7 years. My water pressure is great, my bill is low.
Concord is a great place. Just far enough away from Charlotte - but close by is the Speedway and Concord Mills. The hospital is wonderful as well. I have always had an easy commute - it gets sticky sometimes at Concord Mills exit 49, but the back roads don't fill up.

seems crime is slightly higher in Concord than Hunters or Mooresville.. whats your opinion on the crime there?
