I spent a large percentage of my Labor Day at Lowes and am happy to say, I'm getting a new kitchen! Finally But...am I getting a good deal?

The cabinets are maple (Shenandoah) for $2,000 and the countertop is granite (Lowes has a special $39/sq ft special - product AND installation). The labor was quoted at $900. My kitchen is pretty small...a total of 9 cabinets.

I still need to decide on flooring! I just hope I'm not pricing myself out of the neighborhood by doing any kind of renovation (on the edge of Madison Park).

If it was a $30,000 remodel then you might question it. It sounds like you've been in it a while and don't plan on flipping or moving soon.Sounds like a nice renovation, enjoy it!

It sounds reasonable to me especially if you plan to stay in the house. If you like the cabinets get them. On the floor, and if you actually cook, don't put in pre-finished hardwood. If you have to have hardwood, then go with something that you can completely seal from moisture. Else, I would stick with a good quality vinyl or tile where you have sealed the grout.
