My husband will be in town next week and we saw that it is restaurant week in Charlotte. I know when we have that week here places are booked solid weeks in advance. Are there are any places that are a good deal and worth checking out? It would be great since we will be moving down there in about 8 weeks or so.....
Thanks!

You didn't mention what city you are coming from but if it has a Brazillian steakhouse and you have been there you might want to try somewhere different. Chima is about the same as ever other one I have been too. I listed some below that I found to be more unique when I moved here:

Zink American Kitchen
Old Stone Steakhouse - try the Ribs in their Cheerwine BBQ sauce
Mimosa Grill
BrickTop’s Grill

You can find the whole list at: Charlotte Restaurant Week

I would say that you absolutely want to go to the restaurants that offer the greatest discount. All of the meals are $30 a person. Some places will give you a complimentary glass of wine and other "add ons" to make up for the fact that a normal meal there would never cost $30. Other high end restaurants who are participating are offering a $30 meal that would normally cost about $50-70 (like Ruth's Chris, Morton's, maybe Dresslers or Capital Grille). Be careful of the more expensive restaruants who may not give you many entree options (Capital Grille, for example). I will personally be visiting 300 East, Ruth's Chris, and Dressler's. But most of all....try as many as you can!!

We went the last time they had the $30 menu, and honestly we were diappointed. While we had the opportunity to try different restaurants that we normally coulnd't afford, we found that the service was very rushed and at one of the places we went, they had brought in more tables so we were crowded next to other people. In particlar, at Custom House we were in and out in an hour. My suggestion -- skip it.

The menu for restaurant week at Cajun Queen looks good. I haven't been there yet, but hear it's good.

Lol at Outback Steakhouse for $30 a head. Uhh no.

We went to Del Fresco's last year and were extremely happy with the experience. This year we are returning to Del Fresco's and also trying out Chima ( I have been to many similar experiences in Brazil and Argentina and can't wait to relive the experience).

We booked Mickey and Mooch at Huntersvill last night. From those I looked at the had the best offerings. App, salad, entree, choice of side and dessert. The entree and 9oz filtet, 16 oz NY Strip and Lumb Crab cakes. We are super excited, haven't been out for a nice meal in a long time.
