No more than I travel, I shouldn't complain I guess, but I swear, I do not understand what goes on with the airfare stuff sometimes!

For instance, right now I'm trying to setup something CLT<->LAS for Interop.
Specifically for say, Sun The 17th to Tues the 19th, maybe Wed.

I know its a boo-boo to not stay over a Sat night, but I'd simply perfer not.

I check the rates for CLT-LAS and the direct flights don't come until $380 or so (travelocity).

But I also checked for RDU-LAS, and theres one for $250, that connects, guess where, through CLT.

Are the deals really not any better than this, in this economic climate?

BTW I do realize that if you stay over Sat night, the flights get cheaper, but then you get to pay weekend rates at a hotel.

or do I just fail because Vegas is always going to be more, just because its Vegas.

the 17th to the 19th.....of October?!?!? $380...how much do you think the flight should cost? I've noticed most flights out of CLT are crazy expensive. GO RANGERS!

The prices go up and down at all times of the year. I just looked at flights from Clt to Dub 2 weeks ago with Delta - $480 return. I was busy and waited until last week to book - $830. So I looked at continental for the same dates and booked at $535 including taxes. So really they all differ. Of course the more stopovers the cheaper the flight. I wasn't in a position to have too many stopovers as the flight are for my kids who are flying unaccompanied - now there a ripoff fee but that's another days story LOL

Thanks.... I should have been more clear, Interop is next month: Business Technology Conference & Expo - Interop Las Vegas 2009

May, not October

No problems connecting through Atlanta, that is the preference if anything.

Sorry, Trip. Another poster mentioned October so I picked up on that date.

Have you tried Mobissimo.com? I read about it in the Wall Street Journal six or more years ago and have been using it along w/ the more well known sites for a long time. Mobissimo will pick up lowest prices from the airlines as well as other consolidators.

I just plugged your dates in and got JetBlue for $263.00 and Delta for $284.00.

I like to check around midnite. For some reason, I often get good prices after 11:30 pm ET, even when I have a 2 week departure date.

Good luck! I hope you can work it out!

You reason you spot the good prices around 11:30pm is that the airlines tend to update any moves in ticket prices around that time.
