Hello--When I was reasearching, I found all the information I needed when I performed a google search for:

lincoln county nc schools

There is a lot of information that comes up and you can choose where you want to go from the school district website to the NC school report card info.

Happy reading.

Terri

thanks terri - I did do some research but I have found that what the stats show and what people's opinions (those there now) tend to vary.

I hear you on that one.

The one thing that I am undable to find out about is the busing situation. I hear it's horrible in Mecklinburg county so I am staying away from that, but have not heard anything about that in the Lincoln county and Iredell counties.

I do not know busing info either...I tried going to the specific schools website - no specific info - that too is on opinion...for ex-where I am now my kids can get the bus to 3rd grade...school lets out at 3 and if they take the bus they do not get home until 3:20 (the school is 5 blocks away) If I pick them up, we are home my 5 after 3...this is because the kids taking the bus wait for ALL the kids to be there, by the time they board and then leave, a 5 min ride take so long so I don't even use it here....I may opt not to use it there either. Until you are there, all these things are so difficult to gauge and again one person may hate the bus while others embrace it.

Not only that---but busing kids to an entirely different school in the district when you thought they were going to attend xyz school. That is NOT a good thing to me and is something that I am trying to be very careful of when looking for a new place to live. It's going to determine where I buy, that's for sure.

be careful, I do not know where you are going Char or Ral but I hear in Raleigh (those who are there correct me if I am wrong) You can buy a house and think your kids will attend school A but they are redistricted to school B ... as for Charlotte, you are guarnteed a spot in your home school..i do not know if as much re-districting is going on in cms and areas compared to Wake
