How much do teachers make in Charlotte? Do they live comfortably? I am a teacher with a masters degree and I am thinking about relocating to NC, but I am not sure about the salaries there.

You can glean a lot of info off of this old thread. Even though it got closed there is still a lot on it you might find interesting, especially info on salaries I posted at one point.

You may want to do some more research.

Typical Gorman, big thinker solution.

Here is a much better idea. List everyone in CMS by salary, top to bottom.

After you recover from feinting at the "administrations" numbers, start by cutting the first salary in 1/2, fire the next person, cut the next salary in half, fire the next one, etc.

All those regional, content specialists and supervisors and coordinators are simply fluff. You get to keep three or four teachers for what the worthless central office people make.

Yet another reason CMS, overall is a dismal failure. Teachers work hard, with minimal support, against a never ending series of unfunded/supported mandates, and in the end, get fired. Pathetic.

CMS has the information on their website. Charlotte in the general is an excellent place to live because of the low cost of living - here is a link to the site as well as the particular page you're looking for. (my Wife is a teacher)
Comfortably is a little subjective since everyone has a different standard and style of living, hopefully these links will better help you determine what's right for you.

Hope this helps.
