Hoping that someone can give me some insight on the seating at the Belk Theatre. I was thinking of purchasing tickets for my son to see Phantom of the Opera. The most affordable tickets are in the balcony and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if he'll be able to see the play from up there or will he need binoculars. Thank you.

We've seen two shows from the front row of the balcony and it's not bad at all. Not sure how dramatically (no pun intended) the vision declines as you move up from there.

I've never been in there but it's a theater. I can't imagine it's like watching a concert from the back end of a football stadium.

It doesn't look bad to me. I'd have no problem sitting anywhere in there for anything.

We sat in the balcony for "Chicago", and enjoyed it. You could see he actors' faces, but expressions were a little difficult to make out. I would think that Phantom would be great from the balcony. Hope you enjoy it!!

From the Belk Theatre website: The theatre seats 2100. The most distant seat is less than 135 feet from the stage.

I saw a Christmas show at the Belk with a friend and her family in the balcony. Little did we know that her father had some sort of vertigo. He felt like throwing up as the steps were very steep. He said he felt like he was going to fall over. He kept his eyes closed through the intermission and then went to the lobby and stayed there the rest of the show.

Default It's not bad but..

in the balcony area it seems a bit tight to me. If anyone gets up for any reason, you have to get up too, there's no room to walk past. The view isn't bad, but I like the mezzanene seats the best. (unless its the front row)

I've seen Phantom twice. I'd see it again.
