I've seen several post about the non-existence (not my words) nite life in Charlotte for the younger crowd. My questions is what is missing? From my research, there seems to be plenty to do but I'm not 20 something so maybe I am now officially out of the loop. So tell me what is missing?

I think a lot of people feel that everything closes down too early here. I am a Generation Y-er, but I don't go out that much...the last few times I've been uptown on a Saturday night though, it seems like there are many many more people out than there used to be. Uptown used to die down early even on Saturday nights too.

I really don't know because I am an old married person with little kids and anything late at night is at someone's house these days.

BUT, we have had a couple of occasions where we didn't get dinner and it was 10:30pm (like when my son broke his collar bone and we were at the ER until 10pm).....and what we found.....was that NOTHING was open! Drive throughs were open but no actual places to sit down and eat. This was quite a shock for us! In CA most restaurants are open until at least midnight, some later.
