My grandmother always gave us ribbon candy and the real peppermint sticks for Christmas, but I have not seen the ribbon candy in a while. And the real peppermint sticks - the old fashioned ones - are not as common, either. I am not particularly fond of the ribbon candy (actually, I don't like candy of any type very much) but I love those old-fashioned peppermint sticks. You know the ones I am talking about- there are more "chalky" than the ones you usually find. They are "porous" and more crumbly. I love them.
I saw ribbon candy in Lexington last week at that old-fashioned candy store that 's there. Can't think of the name right now, but it right on Main St....red & white striped awning. Lots of yummy stuff in there! And they ship, too.

this holiday season can be a good one ,
if we would really ,really keep in mind what it is really about.

We have a huge snow storm headed this way - YAH

I won't be sying that in late February - willjust be counting the days til spring
Charlotte area doesnt get much snow if any from west to east type storms.
The mountains generally absorbs most of the storm in that type pattern.
The ones that we have generally received big snows are the ones that get a low pressure with a mix of moisture from the gulf.
