My family and I are looking into moving to the Charlotte area, specifically either Indian Trail, Huntersville, or Mooresville. I have a few questions about those areas.
#1 - What are the property taxes in those areas (estimated on say on a $210,000 home)
#2 - What is the sales tax in those areas
#3- What is the state income tax of Charotte
#4 - Does North Carolina have an Ad-Valorum tax (vehicle tag tax) and if so, what is it per year ( what percentage of the vehicle's worth)
We are moving from the Atlanta area and any help would be appreciated.
Huntersville is in Mecklenburg County
Indian Trail in in Union County
Mooresville in in Iredell County
Quote:
Sales tax in North Carolina is a 2-part tax, state & local. The state sales tax rate is 4.25%, but the local sales tax rate varies from a low of 2.5% to a high of 3.0%. So, in most areas of the state the combined sales tax rate is 6.75%, but can be as high as 7.25% in other locations such as Mecklenburg County.
