Hey, I have a potential job on on Arrowood Rd near 485. I live in Huntersville off exit 23, west of 77. How bad of a commute would I have? How long would it take to get there? Thanks.

Well, that's a 20-23 mile stretch, the first 10 miles of so in traffic, but once you hit uptown you'd be going against it. I'd say count on 40 minutes or so, though maybe less when all traffic is cooperating.

I concur with the above
Have backup plan with back roads to keep you from standing still on days like today (it just rain people lol)

However you will have a very sweet commute hopefully this fall when that section of 485 opens.

What if I took Mt Holly-Hville Rd to 16 and then hopped on 485?

Well, depending on where you are starting from it could still be about 25 miles, but once you got on 485 it would be pretty smooth sailing I think. 16 is really nice and smooth too since it's four laned - I think I'd be tempted to go this route just to avoid I77. The hardest, most congested part would be Mt. Holly/Hville Rd until you can get on 16.

Especially at the intersection of Mt Holly Huntersville Road intersection with Beatties Ford Road the traffic at that light seems to me getting heavier and heavier. This afternoon I was coming home through that intersection and I had to wait four light changes. I would sample various routes IMO til you find one that works for you but I also would consider going into Denver on 73 to New 16 to 485

Okay thanks. Looks like I need to learn the back roads. But I haven't gotten the job yet or even interviewed yet so I am getting ahead of myself. I just wanted to know what I was getting myself into traffic wise. Thanks.

Maybe 77 to 85 to 485 is a little faster.
