North Carolina State Board of Elections

I just came from a precinct worker training. We are expecting record turnout on election day, and we know that some of you have not yet registered to vote.

Please, please, let me urge you to get that done today! All you need to do is go to the link above and print an application to register, fill it out, and mail it directly to the county Board of Election where you reside (or hand carry it in to your local Board of Election). Be careful to fill it out completely, checking all boxes, and SIGN IT.

If you take care of business now, then voting will go so much smoother for you come election day. As a matter of fact, you can request an absentee ballot (anyone can) and vote in the comfort of your own home, or you can get out for the first week of Early Voting and probably walk right in and out, but if you wait until the last minute, you can expect a very long day.

Come on folks, get it done!

Hint: Having a valid NC drivers license for proof of residency will make things easier for you when you are registering.

Default Aren't Sure If You Are Registered to Vote?

http://www.sboe.state.nc.us/VoterLookup.aspx

Here's a handy Voter Look Up link to let you know IF you are registered and to let you check to see that all your information is correct.

Even if you move within your same county, if you have been moved more than 30 days, you MUST make that correction to your voter registration. If you have married and your name has changed, you need to update that info. You can accomplish all that by just filling out a new voter registration.

In my county, voting starts on October 16th at selected locations.

BTW, at the moment, NC is considered a "Toss-Up" state for president.

Default Have You Thought About Being a Precinct Worker?

Have you thought about becoming a precinct worker? It's a long day, but it's interesting, you learn about the process, you get to see ALL of your neighbors (LOL...well, at least those who vote!) And, there is a small salary involved for your trouble.

The local Boards of Election will be beating the bushes to find enough volunteers to handle the load of voters for this election. If this is something you are willing to do, please pick up the phone and volunteer! Do it soon, because training time is coming and you must attend precinct worker training.
