Thank you both for supplying great information. I will call CMS and check on salaries for positions in the patient accounts area.
thanks
Just wanted to say that at Carolinas in Charlotte you cannot apply for a specific post. They only accept online applications, and you submit a general application, and they say they will "match" your qualifications and experience with a suitable position if there is one. Also, I have not been able to find a phone number for HR on the website.
Thank you Susan and Singe. I did notice that they "match" which is very similar to the MCHS here in Greensboro. It can prove to be rather insulting, especially when you have years of experience in one area but they figure you're only good enough to take out the trash.
Altho I have not worked for CMC, I have been told that rather than submit an online app, you can go and see someone in person at the HR locations. I would think the chance of matching up to the right position might be a lot higher using that method rather than the online application alone. They may still require that you fill out the online app, but having a one-on-one surely would put you a step ahead w/ getting the right position.

Yes, yes, yes!!!! I have never heard of such a thing. I just turned down a job at Carolinas Medical Center because they wanted to pay me exactly what I am making here. Why did I tell the truth on the app, I don't know? I am moving from a small city in Ohio, the cost of living is much lower than Charlotte. I know for sure I would be paying much more for housing there. I told them I just can't afford to make the move. It would be silly of me to move somewhere making the same amount of money but paying more to live there. I see it as their loss, you get what you pay for....

I put in an online app, I was called twice within a month for positions in my field. It works if you have certain credentials and you fit into only one type of position.
