They are putting that building up fast near HC. I wonder if the Walmart going in there is just a regular one or a superwalmart?? I'm praying for a super one. That way for both stores I won't have to drive all the way over to 29.

Where are you talking about?

I thought you meant the Lowes across from HT in Waxhaw, but it doesn't look like this is where you are talking about.

I am pretty certain that Wal-Mart is no longer in the business of putting up regular Wal-Marts. I don't have any facts, but I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that it'll be a Super Wal-Mart.

This is near Concord Mills Blvd in the University area. I also believe it is a Super Wal-Mart. The University store is closing, they are putting up another one near Ikea.

Sad thing is...the same clientelle will shop at the new one on City Blvd. Once you go South of the 29/49 connecter on N. Tryon St...watch out. Have seen many thugs/thug wannabees there.

University City itself is fine...I have never felt unsafe...but the area just South of there isn't.

Are you calling the University Store the one over off JW Clay beside the Sam's Club? Or is this a different one?

Also, exactly where is the new site?

YES...JW Clay Blvd is in University City. That one is closing and they are building a new Super Wal-mart Center on City Blvd...across from the new IKEA!

They are also extending City Blvd to N. Tryon St.

I need to go take a ride over there. I knew about the street extension and the plans for the new retail, but haven't physically laid my eyes on it yet.

Think I'll try and get out there tomorrow.

Thanks for the info!
