Wow!...what a neat museum.
How lucky the city of Charlotte is to have their history preserved in such a wonderful place.
The Cotton Fields to Sky Scrapers is a permanent exhibit, and not one to be missed. It just so happens that I was there while some high schoolers from Charlotte were on a field trip...and the exhibit is very interactive. The kids seem to really enjoy what an old time barber shop looked like, or the lunch counter where a sit in took place, or the general store (where they can even try on old fashioned clothes of the time), or movie theater that you can actually sit in.
It was interesting to see how this city took shape and how it continues to do so.
We also viewed the other exhibits as well...and had a really nice time. The cost is $6 for adults, and you can park in the structure right next door for 1 1/2 hours for free.
