Hi there~

Where can I search for basketball camps/leagues? I have a 13 year old who is advanced, (He normally plays a age group and grade ahead,) so we definitely need him to be challenged. We are coming downin July and I am trying to be proactive with this. (Gosh forbid, no basketball in his life!) I now NC is a sports town!! YAY! He is staying back in Jersey with my parents to say goodbye and hang with his buddies/cousins & other family while we settle into the house. The deal is I know that school will be starting for him 8/25 at Marvin Ridge Middle, however, I was thinking of having him come down a couple of weeks BEFORE school so his summer won't be so boring here in NC with him not knowing anyone. I would like to possibly enroll/register him in some type of basketball activity to meet other kids. We are moving to Waxhaw. Any suggestions? Should I do this another way? He gets out of school in Jersey the end of June and he will have a short summer as it is..... Need your help guys!

My son went to the camp at UNC Charlotte for two years (the overnight session) It's run by Bobby Lutz and a lot of the players on the team are the instructors. He loved it. Here's the link:

Charlotte 49ers - Camps

I want a ticket too

Default Looking for youth basketball team for 11 yr old boy

My 11 yr old son is looking for a competitive basketball league, not a rec league. He has typically played up in the past, is a great ball handler. I found Matthes Athletic, as well as Morrison YMCA (which is more a rec league) . Any suggestions on where to look , we live in Waxhaw. Does not have to be a full blown AAU, but wants a competitive non-rec league.

Check out and talk to http://www.carolinacourts.com/index.html as they have many leagues, etc.

You might check QCAA and Charlotte Mustangs as they have various age travel leagues (AAU).
