We are really trying to decide where to live.
We have never even been to Charlotte (we live in Florida),
but we know the basics of the area through a friend.

I need some personal experience here.

First off, people are saying that the taxes are higher in Mecklenberg than Cabarrus. What taxes? How much higher?

Ok, now for the questions........between the 2....

Which is more for families with little kids?
Which is closer to stores (for example, when I leave the subdivision, is there a supermarket close, Blockbuster, basic stores, or do I have to drive more than 5 min., etc.)?

Any feedback would be great.
Thanks.

I'd contact a good realtor..
I recommend: Joe & Phil Puma with puma & associates www.pumahomes.com they both very good at relocations and meeting the needs of the client. There are many factors that need to be considered. 1) Proximity to work 2) Return on Investment (ie, location) 3) Convience 4) School systems these are all important factors when considering a neighborhood. Example, if you move out of mecklengburg county to pay lower taxes. But you can live 5 miles closer to work ?? Does that make up for the gas spent?? Just food for thought!
