Hi,

My fiancé (quite soon to be husband) and I are relocating to Charlotte because of his job. I am from Philadelphia/New York and he is from NJ so we are trying to acquaint ourselves with neighborhoods in Charlotte. We are looking for something that has a "neighborhood feel" (similar to Philadelphia) with trees, close to parks, pleasant/safe to walk around but somewhere with easy access to restaurants and bars as well. We are both 30 so the bar scene is a little calmer for us at this point. Is there anywhere that can be recommended to begin our search? Ideally we would keep our budget somewhere around a 1,000/month. Thank you so much for your input! It's a little overwhelming to begin a search without knowing the city!

Dilworth, SouthEnd, Plaza-Midwood, Elizabeth fit that criteria,. I don't know about 1k budget a month though. Maybe 1200.

South Park and Park Shopping Center area could fit (I really don't know what this area is considered, maybe west Dilworth/Myers Park). Along Park Rd between Tyvola Rd and Hillside Ave.

If commute isn't a concern, downtown Matthews and Ballantyne could work. What location is your fiance working out of?
