Are there any theaters in the Charlotte area that play classic movies? We used to go to an old vaudville theater to watch Its a Wonderful Life every year before Christmas before moving down here, Just wondering if any theaters around do this too.

Ballantyne Village used to have a summer classic movie series. I would check with The Manor, Park Terrace, or the Ballantyne Village. We don't have any vaudeville-era theaters but the Manor is from the 1940s I believe. They are the more "art house" theaters (even though they're owned by Regal) and would be more likely to do something like that.
The Manor used to be a good place for old movies. Not so much now since they are owned by a bigger movie chain. It's been some time since I've been there, but the old movie theatre in what's now called Noda used to show old movies. I went to a James Dean film festival there once. It's one of the few old freestanding theatres left in Charlotte.
Occasionally one of the theatres will show one of the old classics like "Gone with the Wind" but you kind of have to watch for it.
I wish someone would do something with the Capri. It along with the Park Terrace are the only modern era theatres left. It would be a perfect place for such a thing.
The Manor showed 'It's a Wonderful Life' just a couple years ago, I wish they'd do it every year!
Stonecrest Theater just played 'To Kill a Mockingbird' a couple weeks ago, for the 50th anniversary of that movie. That was a promotion by TCM; they showed it in a few cities nationwide. I *loved* seeing it on the big screen!
There's not one theater here that consistently plays classics, like frew said, you have to keep an eye out. I'd add Stonecrest to coped's list of most-likely theaters, they do play some indie films from time to time.

The Joy Theater in Kings Mountain does that, but they just post the movie on the marquee, not their website. NBC runs It's a Wonderful Life repeatedly during the holiday season.
