I really want to wait to election day early voting doesn't seem as exciting!

I am volunteering this year at the polls, I can only do a half day (6 am to noon). I know they may still be looking for someone to do the other half. Can you only volunteer in your precinct?

I had volunteered 2 years ago to work at the polls, even followed it up with a phone call and some emails, and never was contacted by anyone. So I guess they had enough poll workers in my precinct. I was somewhat disppointed as I used to be quite active at the precinct level (in years past). I like feeling I have been actively involved in the voting process. It is a right that too many people take for granted.

I honestly don't know the question to that, Abri. I just always have volunteered in my own precinct. I will do some research into that!

And good for you for helping out a the polls!!!

That's pretty much it, although I have known plenty of folks who don't bother to vote yet sit around and gripe.

Hopefully, I won't have to argue with an old lady for 10 minutes this time about what county I live in. They simply wouldn't accept that I live in Mecklenburg county, they kept telling me "that part of Matthews is in Union County".

I'm going to vote early. I wish that I'd voted early for the primary. I had to wait in line for an hour in May. Based on the foul & nasty flyers that the Republcan party is sending out about one candidate, I expect it to be as bad or worse on election day.

Good grief! Then they SHOULD NOT be working the polls

ALL of Matthews is in Mecklenburg county.

Well, except for that one part. You know, that part that's in Union County.
