I got offered a job in the area for $53,500 and turned it down, but now a second job has opened and I am considering it (same salary) due to a change where I am at now.

The thing is I'd like to live close to work, but when I was in Ballantyne a couple of months ago it looked pretty ritzy and probably out of my price range. I am 25 and would need a 1BR place. My debt is about $6500 total (car and what not), so it's not too bad. I'd need high speed internet, but not cable. My phone is about $90 a month (Sprint).

Thanks.

That's a great salary for a young single guy in Charlotte

I'll send you a few links to places you should check out.

50K, 6K of debt and you are worried about affording a 1 BR....

you shouldn't have any problems finding a 1BR.

There are PLENTY of places that are affordable around Ballantyne. It looks ritzy and the center area is, but go toward Pineville a bit, over toward South Carolina a bit, or even up closer inside 485 and you should find lots of stuff.

I'm 23, don't make that much and I'm living in Ballantyne comfortably without having to stress about it. You'll be just fine if that's where you want to live!

Thanks! One of the forum members sent me some apartment ideas, and so did my friend from down there. These are the two I've been most interested in, any opinions/experiences:
