Hello again Queen City residents.

I have pretty much decided on my birthday and college graduation celebration trip being to the lovely city of Charlotte. Now some may recall that I had made one trip to Charlotte area on the very sad occasion of visiting my father on what was ultimately his deathbed. However this trip will be for three days around 6/10-6/13 so I'm excited.

Now some questions.

1. I'm a major Carolina Panthers fan. I'm interested in anything Panther nation. Any suggestions?

2. What are some good places to eat? Talking BBQ, chicken joints, breakfast etc.

3. Anything in nearby Greensboro or Winston-Salem to see or do?

4. Any other suggestions for a single 24 year old guy to have fun?

Where will you be staying? Near Uptown, or somewhere else?

Congrats on your graduation, I am happy to make a few suggestions for your visit my friend

Since you are a Panthers fan, consider taking one of the stadium's behind the scenes tours. I have heard they are really interesting!

Carolina Panthers | Bank of America Stadium

Also, if your budget allows, I would recommend you stay uptown so that you can walk to lots of places.

Consider a Segway Tour - a fun way to get around and see things:

Charlotte NC Tours - Charlotte Segway Tours

Don't miss the Levine Museum of the New South in uptown - it's my favorite museum in Charlotte:

Levine Museum of the New South | Charlotte, NC History Museum

Check out the concert schedule at the Visualite Theater while you are in town. This neat little place is just outside of uptown, has great accoustics and great entertainment.

Premier Live Music Club in Charlotte, NC - The Visulite Theatre - Home

And even if you aren't a Nascar fan, you might really enjoy the Nascar Hall of Fame:

The NASCAR Hall of Fame - Where the race lives on.â„¢

As far as Winston-Salem, if you are a history buff at all be sure to take in Old Salem: Old Salem Museums and Gardens | Home

Hopefully this will help get you started on planning your visit!

Check out the Whitewater Center Whitewater Rafting, Canopy Tour, Zip-Lines, Climbing, Mountain Biking, Flatwater Kayaking, Ropes Courses, Eco Trekking. USNWC | Charlotte, NC

Although many praise Mac's for BBQ (went twice and I won't be going back), my favorite is Midwood Smokehouse for BBQ- I willingly drive across town when in the mood for BBQ.

Know we've had our differences and likely still will but thanks for the whole mess of info.

I looked into the BofA stadium tour and it looks like they book in groups. Anyone know if this is true or they do regular walk-in tours?

Another thing I'm into is photography. I like downtown areas and historic areas with victorian style or historic housing like Old Louisville in Louisville, Victorian Village in Columbus, OH, or Over the Rhine in Cincinnati. Any areas like this in Charlotte?

Glad to help, really

Since you like Victorian homes do some walking around the 4th Ward in uptown Charlotte. http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel...oric_Fourth_Wa

In addition, you might want to find the Duke Mansion in Eastover (which is now a nice bed and breakfast) The Duke Mansion - Historic Bed & Breakfast and Meeting Place

and the Vanlandingham Estate in Plaza Midwood which has lovely grounds -

I'll also add a vote for the Levine Museum of the New South, Have been there a couple of times and have not been disappointed yet with their exhibits that cater to southern life.

Ditto on the Visulite theater. $50 on decor, $200,000 on the sound system. Good acts from Hip Hop to Blue Grass.

Haven't been to the NASCAR Museum but if you are a fan its a definite pilgrimage.

Uptown Jazz Festival on June 23 looks like a good time.

Vince Gill at the Knight Theater (nice venue) on the 17th of June.

BBQ all over the place, some great, some not so good. I don't usually go to the upscale places, in fact I usually make my own.

I just got a reply from the Carolina Panthers saying that they do public tours at Bank of America Stadium every Wednesday. I'm definitely there. I also booked a 3-star hotel in the University City area.

Mac's or McKoy's for BBQ. Terrace Cafe and Pewter Rose are my favorites for breakfast/brunch, though Cafe Monte, Zada Jane's, and Flying Biscuit Cafe are other popular places. Halcyon is probably my overall favorite restaurant, though it's a little pricey.
