Yeah, yeah, this isn't a tech support forum but it is related to Time Warner which most of us have.

Anyone ever have the below issue:

1. Watching a recorded show (Show A) at 8:50 pm
2. Show B is scheduled to recorded at 9 pm
3. Tuner switches from recorded Show A to Show B (which is live but being recorded) at 9 pm

Their tech support just wants a tech to come out and switch the box. I guess they follow the Apple model. If something's not working, get different hardware.

Mine always switches to whatever is being recorded. i don't know if it's meant to do that or not.

I think it might have something to do with being on an HD input

This just started with mine. Very annoying because it interrupts the show and when you go to Resume Play you have to fast forward back to the spot where you were watching.

First World problems.

Have you tried resetting the box? My Dish box has done this a couple times for no apparent reason. It seems to forget it has a second tuner. Unplug it, and it works fine.

For that matter, all electronic devices can act up and need to be reset. We all know Ctrl Alt Del x 2, right?

Yep, I tried it already but am going to try again tonight. I think there was some update pushed to the box right before this started happening.

We have had the recording problem more times than I can count. It depends on the channel(s) you are watching and recording. We had U-Verse for a year until last August and never had the kinds of problems we are having with TW,

The tech people who have been out - at least one a month - tell us that part of the problem is their equipment and when one tech tells a customer that U-Verse is better and that his mom has ATT, you gotta know TW has problems. Tech says TW's equipment is behind the times.

We don't have a contract with TW - month to month. We're seriously thinking about switching back to ATT, even though it will cost more for what we need in our home. The annoyances with TW are just driving us crazy at times. For the record - I hate TW, as does my wife.

Time Warner is the worst cable service I've ever had.

I have the auto switching problem too ... very annoying.
