My wife has a new job offer working on South Tryon near Time Warner Cable Arena off 277.

Day should start at about 8 or 9 in the AM. What's traffic like in that area at this time?

Also, we will be driving in from Indian Trail on 74. I'm allotting 45-60 minutes. Is this realistic?

Finally, she will be getting off at about 6. Same time as me, but I work in Indian Trail, so it will probably be 7-ish before I can pick her up (we only have 1 car) Is this a safe area? She'll find a place to go inside and hang out, but as far as walking around as the sun is starting to go down, do I need to be concerned?

Thanks a lot

45 - 60 minutes should be plenty of time assuming no accidents or pedestrians getting hit trying to cross the expressway.

She should be fine in that area, it is not overly dangerous.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. The point is moot now, it turned out to be a part time job. So she'll just stay here in Indian Trail

If another downtown job comes up, you should consider the 74X bus to save the doubling back. It lets off at Union Towne Center in Indian Trail.

It is a perfectly safe area - probably the safest in the city around that time. There are restaurants, hotels, condo buildings, bars open until late in the night and there is always a lot of activity, lots of people walking around.
