Rato, a Chinese manufacturing company, is going to build their North American offices in Denver, North Carolina. The announcement means some 40 high-paying executive level jobs will be coming to Lincoln County.
The key is that they build the manufacturing facility in Lincoln County. That would be really good for economy on this side of the lake.

Though there was no formal announcement about the manufacturing plant here, the Governor's office is hoping Rato will decide to open one in the near future.
There is no way a Chinese company transfers manufacturing here, unless the import taxes to products manufactured outside USA will raise considerably (unfortunately no chance of this happening in the near future).
RATO Power is bringing 450 jobs to Lincoln County (Denver)
Chongqing RATO Power Company will invest $30 million and add 450 jobs within four years by building a new plant and distribution center in Lincoln County. The company's products include all-terrain vehicles, generators and water pumps.
The distribution center will be where Denver Global Products. Rato Power acquired DGP.
I can assume the plant will also be in Denver probably off od Hwy 16.

There is a Chinese refrigerator manufacturing plant in Camden, SC.
Most of the time these Chinese companies would have a final assembly plant here so they can label the product "made in USA". Especially since South American (Mexico included) countries have very high import taxes for Chinese made products.
But make no mistake rarely there are any USA made components as part of the assembly. Many companies are just bolting some parts together (or what ever is minimum requirement for its industry) to be able to slap a "made in USA" label.
I am glad to see them outsourcing to us. They don't have to worry about unions and such in this part of the country. That is a plus for everyone and brings foreign industry and business.

Agree, our right to work rule makes it very attractive to most companies to open shop in Carolinas. Let's hope we don't change that in the future.

The Obama administration sued Boeing to prevent them from opening the 2nd 787 Dreamliner factory in South Carolina because there is no union there. These sorts of moves are a death blow to new industry opening in the Carolinas.
