C'mon, folks. I'm sure we can do better than Cracker Barrel. Sure, it's decent, but it's not home cookin'. A chain that serves the same thing in New England and Arizona can't be our best option when we're in the heart of the South! What about Cookhouse in Cornelius or Toast in Davidson?
I'm of the opinion that a good biscuit, one that is made by someone who knows what they are doing, is something that you don't eat with gravy on it. It's like putting ketchup or A-1 on a nicely cooked rib-eye.

Remember... chains were once local. It came out of Tennessee i.e. the south. Their biscuits are always nice, not overcooked. The gravy has a nice flavor. The price point is just great.
The only place I have like better is J. Christopher's (Atlanta) biscuit/gravy because they use more sausage in the gravy.
I love my bisciuts and gravy too. I normally do not pick chains. but I have to say the bob evans in huntersville is delicious. not the typical white flour gravy. its has real sausauge and brown gravy. Delish !
I am always trying buscuits anywhere they serve it .
