Most school days end between 2 and 2:45 -that doesn't sound very convenient to me as most people are still working until at least 4:30 or 5:00.
He is very bright ( well I guess all parents think that about their kids) he can add and subract already. So as for as acedemicly he is ready. He just does not like to be away for us for very long.

Oh, most schools do offer after school care. So if you kindergartener is in school till 2:45, they have after school care untill 5:00. alot of working people here are pushing for all day kindergarten.

Yes Deb I am from Southington...

I really think you will be surprised at the difference the full day makes with the kids. We are out of school much earlier here...but our day starts earlier too. My son is home off the bus by 2:10 pm. In CT he would not get off the bus until 4:00 pm. That did not leave much time for homework and playing, but now we get home early enough to do homework and play before it get dark out. I am not a morning person so I was not looking forward to it, but now I could never go back to the old ways.

Oh yeah, the kids here get dropped off at ten of four. He is an early riser anyway. He is normaly up by six. I guess if I pick him up then it will get him home sooner then the bus ride. He could still take the bus in the morning. That relay is only two more hours then the half day here. It starts a little before nine and ends a little before noon.
