This is a heads up that Charlotte will be on a new episode of American Pickers tonight, when the two fellows on this show are asked by the Nascar HOF to find some Nascar stuff for them. Apparently this show is about two guys who go and find antiques for cheap prices and then sell them for big profits.
Loved seeing Mike & Frank roam around North Carolina and really dig up the history of the area, and get more exposure for the hall of fame. I watch this show every week when they are new, and its so neat they did an entire episode dedicated to NASCAR.
I love American Pickers and although I'm not a NASCAR anything, the showcase in the show made me interested in visiting. Here's to hoping it's had that effect on actual fans and encourage them to visit. I certainly am taking family members who like NASCAR
It was interesting to see Charlotte used as a background for a TV episode, and there were a couple of good skyline shots. I got the impression the whole portion with Humpy Wheeler, was staged for the camera, but other than that, it was pretty good.
^Well, Mr Humpy is a showman. That's what he does (did). I recorded this and watched it last night and enjoyed it very much. Amazing, when you think the HoF couldn't track these people down themselves but it did make for good TV watchin'.

They could have tracked them down themselves but that wouldn't have made for good publicity this way it reaches a broad audience and get people who might not have otherwise been noticed the Hall of Fame be interested.
I like the tactile feel the museum portrayed, specially with Mike and Frank playing at being pit crew. I hope that's available to the general public and not just a special treat for the show.

It is and you are timed just like a real pit crew. That part of the Hof was pretty cool IMO.
I like the show but it is made up for the camera. Like when they bought a car for 8 thousand and didnt even check to see if the engine was bad but assumed it wasnt...A real buyer would never do that.
