Ok, I'm taking the China town bus down there, and it's gonna let us off at another desolate location. The Triangle Shopping Center...

Please tell me what is there?

I wouldn't call it desolate. It's on the side of Independence Blvd, a huge highway. I think there's a grocery store and a few small shops. But you can walk down to Idlwild Road and cross Independence to catch a bus downtown fairly easily.

I think it has something to do with this:
Chinatown Bus - For $30, a no-frills bus trip to NYC - Charlotte Observer

And I didn't know this 'til just now, but the little strip shopping center on Independence between Conference Dr & Wallace Rd is the Triangle Shopping Center.

If you're here just for a visit, I'd take a Charlotte Transit bus from there to downtown. The transit center, where the bus trip would end, is right by the Epicenter, which has bars & restaurants.

Default Its an 16-18 hour trip

--- As mentioned it would take ages from NJ.

The bus service is popular in NJ/NY. The stops are all up in Manhattan for trips originating from NY. Most of the weekend trips are packed full. They are favoured on the NY-Boston, NY - DC route. Some of these buses can be very clean and then some can be really horrible (Not so much the buses but the food that people bring on the bus leave a stench!!!!)

Routes originating from Charlotte must be lot better. 1. Weather is better. 2. Roads are not jam packed.

www.go2bus.com thats the site where you can book tickets

You can stop into Infinity's End, buy some of their items, and fly to Uptown.
