Hello,

We are relocating to Charlotte from NJ.

I will be working close to the Southpark Mall area. I want to live within 10 miles from my office.

Our housing price range is $600k-$800k. We are looking for smaller lots(less than 0.6 acres).

School systems are very important to us.

Which towns meet our criteria?

I have a lot about Mattews, Weddington and Ballantyne.

Are there any other towns we should consider?

There a ton of developments in the South Charlotte area that probably fits that criteria. MikeyKid/Loves Mountains/Anifani come to mind who can be a very good resource on specific neighborhoods. (and the ones you've looked at in those towns already.)

As a rule of thumb, if you are not familiar w/the area, renting at first would be optimal (so you actually get a feel of LIVING in the area first before setting down roots). So many people have moved to a certain area and wished they would've taken more time to get to know this beautiful area first.

I'd also take the time to search this forum and look at past threads from people who are moving here w/similar wants......

Good luck!

Where in Jersey are you from?

With work in Southpark I would go with the Ballantyne or Marvin (Union County) area. You will have many options in your price range.

FYI Ballantyne is not a separate town, it is an area in Charlotte. Congrats on your move, good luck with your home search.
