I am waiting for tonights news reports to tell the whole story. My personal contacts at the school say it was between "the bloods" and the "crips" . Lets see if this (both ethnic based gangs) is even mentioned or sanitized . The school system is known for not letting stuff out when they can and this is a fact.
The Malay at mallard creek involved more than 2 or 3 people ,I believe 7 were even arrested but like I said the fix seems to be in and the public is being deprived of the truth.....I also have contacts with the staff at garinger and the teachers are afraid to even walk the halls. The problems there are said to include another ethnic group but I dare not call them by name or be accused of being a racist. you esy? Facts are facts
Wow - sounds like CMS schools have really gone downhill from my brief time teaching there in 2000... and to think I was considering a possible return to the area for an opening at Hopewell HS...
I am not positive, but, I think that the lack of news talking about gang fights is because they don't want to "glorify" them. To some of the kids, being mentioned on the news is a great achievement, even if the news was bad. I think that the newscasters only mention the most horrific activities of the gangs so kids don't try to "copy cat".
Crips and Bloods are NOT ethnic based. They were around back in the 70's (and probably before that) in Chicago and they were made up of all different cultures/races/ethnic groups. Just kids that are looking to belong somewhere and go down a very wrong path. We also had Latin Kings and others that I don't remember.
Oh, and Barking, knowing gang colours used to be the foundation of what I wore to school. It has only been recent years that I have been able to wear red (for example) without first going over my entire day's schedule to determine if I would be in the territory of a gang or rival gang whose colours were red. I would assume that kids today have similar concerns. It is a fact of life when there are gangs in your school.
Oh good grief - a fight at a high school, the horror
People of all colors have been fighting at high schools for as long as there have BEEN high schools.
Heck in my day we even had real race riots and bomb threats.
This is not news and not worthy of any attention in the media.
