State officials expect Andale LLC, a subsidiary of what they term a "well-known" company, to announce today that it will build a $450 million data center in Forest City. The company will employ about 40 and receive $1.4 million in tax breaks and incentives.

Yeah, Forest City is sort of "out there" I dug up something on Andale & found the parent company. I never heard of the parent company before but they are into renewable energy, while Andale is not. They are internet based.

This one was not on the radar here. This parent company is out of California, which is the same as a different company that has been sniffing around Kings Mountain & Maiden.

It could affect Charlotte by upgrading the whole Western side of North Carolina with electricity, cell service, etc.. (bring it a little more up-to-date). This can and probably will help expand growth on the west side of Charlotte/Gastonia/Belmont areas. Not so much for the jobs obviously, since they're only employing around 50 people, but it is a nice technological industry that should keep growing. Maybe I'm completely wrong....just my humble opinion.
