Hey,

I'm new to the area (which is a cliche around here....). I am looking at Tryon House Apartments, 508 N. Tryon S. It's super old (80+ years) but a great plus cheap location. Anybody know anything about this apartment complex? Is it worth the 'crack house' look for the location?

Those apartments are leased through TR Lawing Realty. Regarding location , it is about 1.5 blocks from our version of Skid Row , being in close proximity to the men's shelter. If all of the residents were inclined or able to work , it would be fine , but they are not. I'd stay there , but its too far from my job/hobbies. The building is old , but that is a plus in a city intent upon razing its history. If you are the type to party into the wee hours , I'd avoid walking back due to these 'teens' who are quicker to listen to someone who could give a damn about them as opposed to parents. Ultimately , the chioce is yours.

Had a friend who lived there and loved it. It is near some rough stuff but I've never heard of much happening there. There are a lot of homeless people that hang out nearby, but the rough stuff tends to stay north of 9th street.

The "T" house is the place to be. Had friends that lived there for years and never had any problems but a little excitement from the street traffic.

I came here looking for reviews on this place- I'm in the process of applying for an apartment. They do background checks and all that so that’s sort of good. Anymore opinions from personal experience?

Also do all the apartments have mini refrigerators ?
