If only this was a sign that US 35 would get finished...
It'll get there, it is an economic need for our region so somebody will push to get it complete. The Toyota plants continued success and expansion will no doubt help the process along though. Once the road is complete though that whole Valley will be ripe for development.

That is even more good news for the area, especially Putnam County. Toyota has given Northern Putnam a great economic engine. Now you are seeing even more manufacturing, high tech jobs, and other industries moving into Putnam with the growth of the Putnam Business Park, among others.
One Putnam County tech company (ATSNetworking) has been nationally recognized 5 years in a row as One of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in the US by INC. They have seen a 55% job growth in a 3-year period.
As for Route 35, crews are currently widening the road now, and it won't be too long before it's complete. It's only a shame that the road won't be 4-lanes for that 10 or so mile stretch for years to come.
I certainly am thankful that Toyota is creating more jobs here the same time American companies are opening plants outside the US.
This certainly is great news. We need to continue to hold our legislators accountable and make sure they improve the business environment in the state. I don't know if unions are still as powerful as they were in the past but in today's world its smarter to follow the lead of right to work states like South Carolina and Texas than the union wastelands of Michigan and Ohio. Unions are like the NAACP in that they were necessary in the past and made a lot of positive contributions but are no longer needed. Don't know specifically about here but in many places, union leaders are like Sharpton, Jackson, and Wright stirring up trouble to make themselves stay relevant. I just moved here recently from a ruined, failed state and hope that West Virginia keeps the things that make it good.
West Virginia should also continue to court gun manufacturers that are leaving Maryland, Connecticut, and Colorado due to these states ridiculous gun control laws. Beretta has decided not to completely relocate out of Maryland after all but they ARE looking elsewhere for future expansions.
Toyota's growth has definitely been an economic engine to Winfield's growth. (Pardon the pun). The housing market here is fantastic. Our subdivision just sold its last vacant lot and construction is beginning on another smaller subdivision beside ours with multiple houses already going up.
What inquiring minds want to know is who takes credit. Since West Virginia is pretty evenly split are the Republicans taking credit? By the way I don't think manufacturing handguns provides that many jobs unless maybe it was Glock. From what I have read a small percentage of gun owners have as many as 20 guns and rifles. They consider them investments like hoarding gold.

I can't help wondering... since this thread is about Toyota, is Toyota going to start making guns there?
