I've been going to Shem Creek for years. The place has really turned into a ripoff!!! I went in and sat at my favorite place at the boat shaped bar and ordered a dozen oysters. They were small, but ok. They had been broought in from somewhere else. They had no local oysters, so I ordered another dozen of a different kind. They, were fair. When I got the check, it was $40.00 just for the oysters alone!!!! This is in a town that has great local oysters for $9.00 a bucket!!! When you order a dozen oysters at Shem Creek, they charge you by the half dozen at the same price a dozen should be. Got to Abe's Oyster Bar in Mt. Pleasant and you'll be pleasantly surprised!

I am surprised. We just went there two weeks ago and my husband ordered a bucket of oysters and they were great. We felt the price for both of our meals including drinks was very fair. It's one of my favorite places to go and watch the boats go by.

We haven't been in a few months (bummer), but it's my all time favorite seafood restaurant around here. I hope this was just a one-time deal.

I called again yesterday and it was the same deal! An order of oysters is 6, not 12. What a ripoff! It's a shame really. Makes me want to buy it and restore it to what it used to be.

Haven't been back to Shem Creek Bar & Grill since I got food poisoning. Shame too. Used to really enjoy it. Guess things changed when John died.
