Hiya folks! My husband and I are planning to move to SC sometime this spring. We recently visited family in Mt. Pleasant but didn't really get a chance to visit other areas. We are a young couple both heavily tattooed, we love being outside and especially the beach. We are trying to find a place where we fit in and feel comfortable enough to start a family. We go out occassionally but its not a must that we live near nightlife, we kinda dig just relaxing at the house and laughing at our bulldog. Any suggestions??

Since you like the beach life and seem like a hip couple, Folly Beach sounds perfect for you!

Most of the places listed would work great for you. I think you'll find that many areas of Charleston are welcoming, and each have their own flavor.

DJ, looks like more people agree with me than you on this one.....

I am not sure if they allow Tattoed people in MtP, but I wasn't even concidering that aspect of the equation, I was looking at what they were looking for....

Haha, was bound to happen sooner or later. Just didn't think the criteria listed actually ruled out anywhere in the Charleston tri-county within 30 minutes of the beach. I agree with your suggestions though, and would toss in parts of West Ashley, close-in, i.e. around Voodoo, Gene's, etc.

Might want to clarify the "Voodoo" place for them ....being out-of-towners and all, they might wonder what you're trying to steer them towards. (it's a bar/lounge where a lot of 20's - 40's hang out).
