Daniel Island / Volvo Cars Stadium Parking Question...... (Charleston: construction, restaurants)

Several of us have tickets to a concert in May at the Volvo Cars Stadium. On their website, they are clear that there is no tailgating in their lots. My question is, are there other parking options within walking distance that aren't controlled by the stadium where we can tailgate?

The problem is not the stadium, it is the City of Charleston police and city ordinances that will catch you. Tailgating will get you a citation. I've seen it too many times. Best bet is to come early and hang out at one of the bars or restaurants near the stadium until gates open.

Thanks for the info. When I say "tailgate" I don't mean like at a football game. No grill, cornhole or tents. I'd just like to sit in folding chairs listening to some decent (not loud) music. Sip some wine or have a cold beer and maybe some finger foods. Even that will get you noticed?

Its going to be interesting regarding parking going forward... the stadium itself has very limited parking since the large open fields it has used in the past are now construction zones...and therefore are unavailable any longer... Ive seen nothing lately about where parking will be available going forward especially for day time events... the open question is the availability of the private retail oriented areas parking for evening events.

THank you for the information on this site. Just need to clarify: there won't be a "Parrothead" get-together (parking lot tailgating) at the upcoming Jimmy Buffet concert in May 2017?
