Hello , I have a trip planned to visit the Summerville area in September for a possible relocation from the New England area. I was hoping to get some info on specific areas of town/ Subdivisions to check out . I am looking for a somewhat newer home in low to mid $200K range. Semi retired firefighter / fiancee in the optical-medical field. Thank You for any information you can provide.

You can't go wrong with a neighborhood like Legend Oaks. I'd also check into Pine Forest County Club, Wescott Plantation, Taylor Plantation, Hickory Ridge, White Gables and Bridlewood Farms. That should give you a pretty good cross section of newer communities in the Summerville areas.

Not newer but I fell in love with Ashborough. Part of it may have been that we came from a cookie cutter subdivision so I found the older neighborhood to be beautiful.....huge large oaks and established. We didn't end up buying in that subdivision BUT if I found a home that met our needs, this would have been my first choice of subdivisions.

DJ pretty much covered all of the newer ones, would you be looking for a Firebug gig?

That's where we are. House needed lots of renovation, but we got the house for a steal, and it is appraising higher than what we put in to fix it.

I love the trees, and I have an very old camellia bush in the front that is almost as tall as the house. If you know how slowly camellias grow, you know that things like this just can't be found in newer neighborhoods.
