Hello. I will be in the Mt Pleasant area next week to look at apartments. Does anyone have ideas of good casual restaurants (non-chains) where we can get a good feel for the area? Nothing fancy needed. Also, are there any casual bars you would recommend for happy hour or later? We are single and in our 30s and would like to see what the nightlife is like. Again it doesn't have to be anything extravagant - just somewhere nice we can grab a beer and meet some locals.

Don't try to either of those on the 25th though unless you purchase tickets for the Mardi Crawl. It will be a madhouse, although a fun madhouse.
