My 12 yr old has had a fever(102.3 ), a light cough and has been EXTREMELY tired since Saturday. I took her to the doctor on Tuesday morning. They did a test for the flu and it was not the flu. No swollen glands and throat looked fine. All they could tell my was she didn't have the flu, mono or strep. The said it was a flu like virus and if she wasn't better to bring her back for more tests. She went to school today for the first time this week. she has been asleep since 4. Now my 3 yr old stared a fever today. I don't know what this could be. The only thing the doctor said was to make sure she drinks and to give her Tylenol. Anyone know what this could be or what other tests they could do? Thanks, I am getting really worried now.

My kids seem to get sick a lot the first few months school starts up. Some viruses are just viruses. I think the fact that her fever improved shows she is getting better. It stinks your other one is coming down with it now. My kids had something similar but with no fever (they don't tend to get fevers, though). When I talked to my oldest's teacher, he said you could just see which kids were recovering because they were dragging. Hope it stops at the little one and no one else gets sick in your family. It is hard when your kids are sick.....you just want to take it away.

We have had it here too. My daughter (5) had a 102.8 fever for two days. Sometimes (the doctor said) they vomit as well. My daughter did once. It took a long time for me to get over it. So tired, throat feels the worst. I lived on tylenol for 2 weeks. It will get better just lots of fluids and rest.

Had four employees out with it and then I got it myself. Seems more of a sinus pain thing and it blows!
