Look on vrbo.com. I found a place for my parents on there when they stayed here for a few months over the winter & found them to be much more reasonable that anywhere else I looked.

We recently went through what you're experiencing now....getting a job here, needing to rent short-term in the area until we found a permanent place. I can tell you from recent experience that you will be hard-pressed to find any short-term rental less than 3 months, and even those are extremely hard to find. (A very few apartment complexes offer 3-month leases....) If you *do* find a 3-month rental, the rent is much higher. When we were looking to move here last year, I must have called hundreds of apartments and condos and other types of rentals, and that's what I found to be true. If you are really set on a rental for only 1 or 2 months, you might want to look into some of those "hotels" that charge by the week. I know it wouldn't be the best arrangement, but it would only be temporary.

I am in the same boat as you. I have been here for a little over 2 weeks now and am staying at Extended Stay America in Mt. Pleasant. It's not too bad. The location is great. It is like having a studio apartment. I have a little kitchen area with a stove top, microwave, full size fridge, 2 windows that open, housekeeping once a week, and they have laundry facilities on site. It is pretty quiet around here too. If you sign up on their email list, you will be emailed an offer for $200 of a stay of 31 - 60 nights.

Extended Stay America by the airport is where I am while waiting to close on the house. It's ok... near work at least.
