I am going to be in Charleston on 9/5 and 9/6 and would like to know the best route from Bee street to the historic district for biking. What streets and areas are bike friendly. Is the bike the best way to tour in just 2 days. I will begoing to Kiawah for the rest of the week to bike but would like to see Charleston first. Any suggestions?
Take Bee street to Lockwood towards downtown, it becomes Broad Street. The turn right on Murray and follow the Harbor and on up East Bay Street. That should let you see most of downtown. Not all streets were designed to be bike friendly downtown, but the area's easy to negotiate.
