How do you dispose of rechargeable batteries? Do you bring it to the local Hazmat depot or just dump it into the trash, like everything else?

Yeah you can take them to a HazMat center. A lot of electronics stores like Radio Shack will take them too.

Here's a site. You can enter your city and it will give you a list of places.

Best Buy is also a good place to get rid of them.

Most electronics stores will take them from you. I didn't even know until recently that you are not supposed to throw them away. I just got some Duracell precharged rechargeables, and they're supposed to be some of the longest lasting on the market, so hopefully I won't have to dispose of any for a long time!

I launch mine into the sun.
I can see them disappear in the glare of the sun, but for some reason in a few seconds they fall back to earth.

I think I need to build a bigger trebuchet.
