I think he died when they say he did...he did live a terribly unhealthy lifestyle and the people who made it possible are half to blame. Of course 'yes people' are easier to be around than those who tell you the truth and when you're the boss, people tend to agree sheepishly with everything anyway, even if it's bad for you. That's the danger of being famous. No one really thinks and says how behavior effects you. And the road of least obstruction is to be agreeable at all times; after all, he was an adult like so many stars are.
Famous people get thinking they can do whatever they want when they want. Even if it leads to their death. And then so many creative people are depressed. The whole combination of everything is scary. Plus the public is way too forgiving when it comes to famous people.
I don't know if Elvis really died though. he's probly dead by now and I'm not sure I believe the conspiracy but it wouldn't be farfetched for him to fake his death. plus I listened to this guy on Youtube and he really did sound like Elvis but idk because how would he still be alive? he'd be way too old.
like I said not sure if I believe it because people are probly just wishful thinkers but I welcome the possibility of faking because we never met the man so we will never know the real story. what do you all think?
One never knows. I didn't pay much attention to the conspiracies after his death (was still a teenager). Years ago I heard these financial guys chatting about Elvis' estate, they were joking about him still being alive. Well after hearing that, I mentioned to a friend that I didn't realize some people thought he faked his death, they told me how do you think all those Elvis sightings started? I just assumed it was his fans that terribly missed him. Anyway, if you have the money and contacts, anything can happen. I have suspicions about another well known celebrity that may have faked their death.
I remember the "Elvis Is Alive" stories in the National Enquirer and other tabloid magazines from the late 1970s through the 1980s. By the 1990s the gag ran its course and the tabloids moved on to other stuff. There is no convincing evidence that Elvis lived past August 16, 1977!

In order for Elvis to be alive (or at least to have not died August 16, 1977), his daughter Lisa, his ex-wife Priscilla, and a bunch of other people would have to be in on it. To think anyone could carry a secret like that for years without spilling the beans is incredulous!
He was also surrounded with "yes men" who enabled his self-destructive ways. So were Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Jackson, and other greater or lesser celebrities.
Your statement is mostly correct, with one exception: There are no greater celebrities than Elvis.

He had some genetic health problems inherited from his mother that contributed as well; he had colon problems, and many health care experts believe that his fatal heart attack was brought on by a difficult bowel movement. I think a lot of people around him were just ordinary people like his cousin Billy Smith. Billy was very close to Elvis. He has said that people in the circle just didn't know what to do. They felt helpless to stop Elvis's self destruction. He was a grown man, and as all addicts are, was crafty, and devious in getting the drugs he wanted. Elvis had more than one doctor supplying him with prescription drugs. Elvis convinced himself that because doctors gave him drugs, it was OK. All self deception of course. To have saved Elvis, he would have to have been forcibly detained in a hospital or clinic, to wean him off his drug addiction. Who was going to be able to get this done? Not his father, and certainly not his manager who needed Elvis to keep touring to feed his own gambling addiction. Just a sad story all round.
I read somewhere that he died of heart failure because of drugs and he was on the toilet (not that it matters, but that's a lewd detail they always reported). No idea how true this is though...
